Flu Shots For Homebound Seniors Available In Southington

The South Central Health District has set aside some flu vaccines to take to homebound seniors this flu season.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — For seniors, a bout with the flu can be especially dangerous, with being vaccinated seen as a key weapon to stay healthy during flu season.

But for those who are homebound, getting a flu shot can be difficult.

This is why the Southington-based South Central Health District, 196 N. Main St., has a limited supply of flu vaccines set aside for homebound senior citizens.

The requirement is for seniors to be 65 and up and be unable to leave their homes.

Residents are asked to call the local health department, which serves Southington, Plainville, and Middlefield, at 860-276-6275 to make an appointment.
