Holiday Closures Announced For Southington Offices, Schools

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The upcoming holiday season has local towns and schools in holiday mode for the upcoming Christmas and New Year's holidays.

And with both New Year's Day and Christmas falling on a Wednesday this year, the following impacts should be noted in Southington.

Christmas

Southington Town Hall and the John Weichsel Municipal Center will be open on Tuesday, Dec. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

They will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25.

The Southington Public Library's new building will be a prime destination during the holiday break.

It will close at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, then reopen at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26.

While the library is closed, eBooks, audiobooks, music, magazines, and movies are always available through Libby App, hoopla Digital, Flipster, and Kanopy with a Southington library card.

New Year's Day

Southington Town Hall and the John Weichsel Municipal Center will be open on Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

They will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1. 2025.

Southington public schools' winter break lasts from Dec. 23-Jan. 1, 2025. Classes resume as normal on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
