Ida Was An Unwelcome Traveler Along Several Roads In Southington
The remnants of Hurricane Ida certainly left their marks in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Nearly 6 inches of rain pelted Southington late Wednesday night into Thursday, as the remnants of Hurricane Ida left their calling card on several roads throughout town.
Ida's amount came with the ground already saturated and streams swelled because it followed Tropical Storm Henri, which left about the same precipitation total less than two weeks ago.

- South Main/Main at Grove in the center of Plantsville
- West Center at Summer
- Savage at Kingswood, specifically 354 Savage St.
- North Main in the area of Curtiss
- Lazy at Curtiss
- Lazy just, off of Queen
- Lower Woodruff at Alyssa and Village Road
- Darling Street at Whitney neat the vet clinic
- The 1000 block of Queen Street from No. 1049 Queen to the Plainville town line
Queen and South Main streets still had water on them into the early afternoon Thursday, police said.
