Major Southington Road Overhaul Underway, See What Streets Are Impacted

The planned Southington road project started Monday, June 21, and will impact motorists through late August.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Motorists traversing Southington's streets this week and next will notice a significant number of paving vehicles slowing down traffic.

The Town of Southington announced Monday that planned road reconstruction on several town streets started Monday, July 21, and will continue for several weeks through the end of next month.

Street milling started Monday, July 21, and that operation will last two weeks, town officials said.

Then, paving will start the first week of August, with the entire road reconstruction complete by Aug. 28, weather permitting.

Local officials are urging motorists to exercise caution when navigating the construction areas.

"Please be careful while passing a construction zone for both worker safety and your safety," wrote the town.

Roads slated for work are: Lynwood Drive; West Street; Jeanette Court; Vereram Court; Burritt Street; Mount Vernon Road; Manor Road; Lepage Drive; Marion Avenue; Butternut Lane; Atwater Street; and White Oak Drive.
