Man Killed After Being Hit By Car In Southington: Police
Police said the elderly victim was trying to cross the street on Sunday night.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A 70-year-old man was killed Sunday night in Southington after being struck by a vehicle on Queen Street.
According to the Southington Police Department, the victim has been identified as Ralph Gulla, 70.
Police said at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday, the SPD and the Southington Fire Department/AMR Ambulance were dispatched to the area of 235 Queen St. for a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

"Upon arrival, the pedestrian was located in the roadway with severe injuries," wrote the SPD in a release Monday morning.
Police said first responders on scene attempted lifesaving efforts, but the pedestrian was pronounced deceased.

Preliminary Investigation revealed that the vehicle, identified as a Honda Civic, was traveling southbound on Queen Street when it struck the pedestrian, who may have been attempting to cross the street.
Police said the operator of the vehicle was uninjured and was the lone occupant.
The SPD said the driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
The Southington Police Department’s accident investigation team was activated, responded to the scene, and assumed control of the investigation.
