Mobile Health Clinic Coming To Southington Tuesday

Hartford Healthcare's 'CareVan' will be in Southington for a few hours on Tuesday to offer basic clinical testing and treatments.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A mobile health-care clinic will set up shop for the day in Southington on Tuesday, with folks able to receive health screenings and get minor aches, pains, and illnesses addressed.

Hartford Healthcare's "CareVan Clinic" will be at Southington-based "Bread for Life" on Tuesday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 31 Vermont Ave., Southington.

Bread for Life is a nonprofit group that works to combat food insecurity amongst several population groups in town, including seniors, children and those struggling financially.

On this day, however, it will be the location where anyone who needs healthcare services can get them.

Various tests are available, such as blood pressure and blood sugar tests, as well as lab tests for cholesterol, AIC, HIV, flue and hemoglobin.

The "CareVan" also will have referral services to help stear those toward more specialized and urgent health care, if necessary.

Ailments and issues that can be addressed at the "CareVan" include cold/flu, stomach aches, ear aches, cuts/minor infections, minor burns, rashes/insect bites, and family planning.

The clinics are open to all ages and insurance is accepted, but it is not required.
