PARC annual walkathon set for this Saturday!

Walk benefits PARC for people with developmental disabilities in Plainville, Southington & surrounding towns. www.parcdisabilitiesct.org

PLAINVILLE – PARC’s 24th Annual Helen & Danny Coughlin Memorial Walk is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20 at Norton Park, beginning with registration and festivities at 9 a.m. Opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the walk. The event will also include a chili contest, music, children’s activities, Valentine the Clown, gift baskets, and more. The walk is named in honor of a PARC founder and her son who was one of the first members. The event rain date is Sept. 27.

Since 1957, PARC, Inc., has advocated and protected the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by actively supporting full inclusion in the community. PARC nurtures confidence and self-esteem by fostering talents and social skills through a wide variety of programs including Camp Trumbull, Adult Life Skills, Healthy Living Activities, and more. PARC serves more than 50 people ages 10 to 80 from Plainville and nearby towns.
