SOUTHINGTON, CT — U.S. Rep. Christopher Poulos, D-Southington, is not sweating out this year's election compared to 2022.

That's because Poulos defeated GOP challenger James Morelli Jr. of Southington, 7,133-5,802.

It means there will be no recount, as Poulos garnered 51.39 percent of the vote.

In 2022, Poulos was taken to a recount after a close, election-night win, a victory that was confirmed, but whose margin was reduced to a single vote over then-challenger Tony Morrison.

Poulos' 81st House District is solely comprised of most of Southington.
