SOUTHINGTON, CT — For those who do their banking via the drive-through, the beloved dog treat gift for canine passengers is always a highlight if your pet is tagging along.

The branch, located at 121 Main St., Southington, is hosting a celebration of the new feature from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day.

According to TD Bank, the family-friendly event will include pet adoption information and treats for humans and canines alike.

In case folks are wondering how a dog will be able to insert an ATM card to get a treat, don't fret. There's another way.

According to the bank, the doggie ATM uses a puppy paw mat and motion detector to provide pets with free dog biscuits.

This installation is one of 14 new Dog ATMs launching across TD’s Maine-to-Florida territory, "all at recently renovated high-traffic branches," wrote the bank in a statement.

Friday's event will feature:

• Fun activities including a DJ, a dog caricaturist, and giveaways for pets and customers.

• Free items and pet adoption access through the CT Humane Society.

• Pre-packed baked goods for pups, along with water stations and goodie bags with dog treats.
