Southington Construction Equipment Supplier Purchases New Site In Town

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local shop dedicated to construction/contractor equipment and supplies recently purchased a massive industrial building in Southington to move operations.

O, R & L Commercial announced Tuesday the sale of 5.512-square-foot industrial building at 1198 West St. to Superior Equipment and Supplies of Southington.

The sale price, according to O, R & L, which represented the seller — construction contractor John Keegan of Engineered Construction LLC — was $1.4 million.

Currently located at 1403 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Plantsville, Superior also has showrooms in Danbury, East Hartford, Norwich, Bridgeport, and Seymour.

According to O, R & L, the new 4.37-acre location offers expanded space for Superior, which was a main reason for the company choosing that site.

"A key driver of value was the site’s ample outside storage capacity, a highly sought-after feature in today’s market where demand significantly outweighs supply," wrote O, R & L in a statement.

"The sale aligned well with both parties’ objectives: the seller was preparing for retirement, while Superior will utilize the property for its ongoing business operations."

O, R & L, which has offices in Branford and Rocky Hill, said the property "generated strong interest immediately upon listing and went under contract shortly thereafter following multiple competitive offers."
