Southington Is On A CT Lotto Hot Streak

Last week, a Southington store sold a large-paying scratch-off ticket, and two Southington residents hit it big this week.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Whether playing or selling lottery games, Southington has seen a major hot streak in recent days when it comes to lottery winnings.

It started last week on Nov. 14.

That's when a Southington gas station proved to be a good place to purchase a lottery ticket as a Burlington resident who won a life-changing payout.

According to the Connecticut Lottery Corp., the individual won a whopping $100,000 playing the $400,000 Fortune scratch-off game.

The game costs $50 to play and has a maximum payout of $400,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Cumberland Farms gas station/convenience store on 1978 West St., Southington.

Then this week, two Southington residents, specifically two from the Plantsville section of town, struck nice payouts as well.

On Tuesday, Nov. 18, a Plantsville resident won $50,000 playing the $400,000 Fortune game, with the ticket purchased at the East Hartford Mobile station on 483 Silver Lane.

The next day, Wednesday, Nov. 19, another Plantsville resident won $100,000 in the Cash 5 drawing with a ticket purchased in Wethersfield at the Mobile station at 1340 Silas Deane Highway.

Cash 5 is a daily drawing game with winners able to pocket $100,000 as the maximum payout.

It costs a minimum of $1 to play, with 50-cent multipliers allowed to increase the chances of winning.
