Time Change: Southington Football To Play For LL State Title Saturday Night In New Britain: UPDATE
The Southington High School Blue Knights will go for the program's fourth state championship this weekend.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington High School Blue Knights' quest for a fourth state title continued with success Monday night as they demolished Norwich Free Academy, 42-7.
The destruction of the Wildcats came at a very chilly Fontana Field at SHS, with the next stop being the CIAC Class LL championship game this weekend against powerful Greenwich High School.
The Blue Knights will play Greenwich at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium in New Britain, 635 S. Main St., New Britain, according to the CIAC, which released the schedule on Tuesday afternoon.

SHS will be one of 12 Connecticut teams competing for six championships on Saturday, with times and locations yet to be decided by the CIAC.
Southington's championship game appearance marks a stunning turnaround in a season that once had them at 2-3 following a blowout loss to New Britain High School on Oct. 10.

Since then, however, SHS hasn't lost a game and now stands at 9-3, including two postseason wins.
Southington has already won Class LL championships in 1998, 2013, and 2014.
