Southington Has Named Its 'Top Dog' Of 2024
The recently completed dog license month contest also resulted in two other canines being crowned '#2' and '#3.'
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The winners have been picked and Southington officially has a "top dog" for 2024.
And, in fact, it also has a solid "#2" and a well-deserving "#3" as well.
The Town of Southington Monday officially announced the winners of the annual June contest, which is designed to urge dog owners to renew their dog licenses and/or get their dogs licensed.

As part of the contest, all dogs licensed by June 30 are entered into a drawing at Southington's town hall, with the top three dogs picked earning the "#1," "#2," and "#3" tags. The official drawing took place on July 8.
In addition to bragging ... er .... barking rights, the three top dogs received a bucket of dog treats/toys as a prize.

The winning canine was "Ollie Szabat," with the second dog being "Oliver Bard" and third place going to "Gracie Wylie."
The trio of cute pooches was posted on the Town of Southington's Facebook page for all to see.
