Southington PD Seeks Women For Self-Defense Classes

Those interested can sign up through an online waiting list.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Women looking to fend off creeps who just can't keep their hands to themselves can learn a thing or two from the Southington Police Department.

The department announced Wednesday that its seeking people to sign up for women's self defense classes that will begin in the fall, with classes slated for October and November.

As a result, police have created an online waiting list for people to sign up should vacancies arise for any of the sessions.

Those interested in getting on the list should register online and police will get back to them if an opening is available.

"You will be independently contacted if a vacancy is determined," police wrote via social media.
