Southington Residents Can Stake Out Community Garden Plots
The Southington Community Garden Association is seeking registrants to plant veggies at two community gardens in town.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Spring arrives next week and that means the local gardening scene is about to heat up with the temperatures.
In Southington, registrations are being accepted for folks to stake out space at two community gardens in town.
The Southington Community Garden Association will operate its 427 Pleasant St. Garden and 270 East St. Garden on a first-come, first-served basis this year.

Applications for a space can be obtained from the Town of Southington Planning Department, 196 N. Main St., Southington; or on the town website, www.southington.org.
One application per family will be accepted and garden space is for Southington residents only.

Community gardens are seen as excellent ways for people to delve into the rewarding world of growing their own vegetables/fruits.
They can be especially beneficial to folks who lack the space at home to plant a garden and/or live in an apartment/condo complex.
