Southington Roadway Closed For Much Of Day: SPD

The town is working to remove a large tree that is a traffic hazard, according to police.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Highway Department is currently out at 1393 Andrews St. removing a large tree that has been creating a traffic hazard.

Due to the narrow roadway, the curve, and the necessity of the heavy equipment during this procedure, Andrews Street will be closed to through traffic between Long Bottom Road and Reservoir Ridge Drive, according to the Southington Police Department.

The work should take several hours to complete.

"We will notify the public when the roadway is back open," wrote the SPD.
