SOUTHINGTON, CT — The local school system wants to hear from the community it serves as it plans out its future over the next several years.

The Southington Board of Education and the superintendent have launched a strategic planning process.

As part of that plan, the school system has set up an online survey where folks can weigh in on school operations and what they want to see in the future.

"A strategic plan is a clear, focused roadmap for improving schools and ensuring student success. It outlines the district’s goals, priorities, and the specific actions it will take to address challenges, enhance teaching and learning, and meet the needs of its community," wrote Southington Public Schools

"Think of it as a guide that helps everyone—teachers, parents, administrators, and the community—work together toward a shared vision for the future. It ensures that resources like time, money, and energy are used effectively so the district can provide the best possible education for every student."

A representative steering committee has begun a needs assessment and has conducted focus groups and interviews.

Now, it wants to hear from as many individuals as possible.
