Southington Schools' Student Computer Data Compromised

The Southington School System and the district's software provider have set up web pages for residents to monitor the situation.

Like many other districts in the state, Southington's school system was impacted by an outside data breach involving the district's computer data for students and staff.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington School System was impacted by last week's student information software data breach and it has set up a website to offer updates to residents.

On Jan. 8, Southington Public Schools notified those in the school community that school officials had just learned from computer data contractor PowerSchool that the breach occurred on Dec. 28, 2024.

According to school officials, no sensitive information was accessible, however.
