Southington Seed Library Has Folks Thinking Spring

The Southington Land Conservation Trust has opened its seed library at the Southington Public Library.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local land trust dedicated to beautifying and maintaining the town's open spaces has set up resources in the local library to help folks do the same.

The Southington Land Conservation Trust's "Little Free Native Seed Library" is back at the Southington Public Library, 255 Main St., Southington.

Guests can find it on the second floor under the big windows to the right of the reference desk, library officials said.

Operating much like a Little Free Library for books, this seed library consists of free wildflower seeds that can, simply, be taken and planted by local gardeners.

If there are leftover seeds of any kind, they can, then, be donated to the seed library.

With more mild weather expected next week, a trip to the seed library might fight off the winter blahs in return for a little spring fever.
