Southington Seeks Dog Licenses, Town's 'Top Dog'
Dog owners have until to June 30 to enter their pooch for the 2023 Top Dog contest and avoid late fees.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Do you think you have the top dog in Southington?
You will find out next month, but in order to have a chance, local dog owners must get their best canine friends licensed or their licenses renewed by June 30.
Then on July 7, the town will have a drawing for the 2024 Southington Top Dog.

The winning dogs will have the numbers "1," "2" or "3" on their licenses and the top three will also get a bucket of dog treats/toys as a prize.
The "Top Dog" contest announcement comes as town officials issued a reminder Thursday about June being dog license month.

According to the town, the deadline to have licenses renewed is June 30 in order to avoid any late fees.
Necessary for a license is an updated rabies shot, according to the Town of Southington's reminder.
Licenses can be renewed online, in-person or via the mail.
