Deaf Dog Up For Adoption In Southington

The Southington Animal Control Department has been taking care of the 2-year-old pooch.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — "Kai" may also be known locally as "Bruce" and he doesn't hear so well — in fact, not at all.

But Southington Animal Control has taken care of this 2-year-old, deaf American Bulldog and they're hoping someone from the public can give him the love and care the town has given him.

The department Sunday posted several images of "Kai" on social media, in the hopes of drumming up support for people to take him in.

Officially up for adoption, Southington Animal Control says "this sweet boy will melt your heart."
Because of his size, Kai isn't recommended for families with small children.

And, the department says, folks need to be ready to both play with him and hang out with him.

"Kai loves to go on long walks he’s got a lot of energy…but when he’s not he likes to just hang out and snuggle with his people," wrote the town. "He’s not a lap dog but he thinks he is lol!😂"
