Southington Seeks Volunteers To 'Adopt' Families For Holidays

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Even though summer only has a few days to go according to the calendar, the town's social services agency is already looking ahead to helping people for the holidays.

Southington Community Services on Monday put out a call for volunteers to "Adopt-a-Family" for its holiday help program.

"With the holiday season approaching, we are looking for local businesses, groups, families, and individuals who would like to 'adopt' local families for our 2025 holiday gift program," wrote the department.

Such volunteers or volunteer organizations will be able to help clients of Southington Community Services get through the holiday season and its high costs.

Those interested in 'Adopting a Family' should call Southington Community Services at 860-628-3761 and ask the receptionist to speak to a staff member about the “Adopt a Family” program or send an email to Jon at moisej@southington.org.
