Southington: Time To Renew Dog Licenses, Get Rabies Shots
The Town of Southington is currently selling dog license renewals in the town clerk's office, with a rabies clinic also slated for June 10.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — June may represent the end of the school year for our children, but for our dogs, it means its time to renew their dog licenses.
The Town of Southington reminded residents of this annual rite for dog lovers on Tuesday, announcing that, starting Tuesday (May 30) the Southington Town Clerk's office was administering license renewals.
The cost is $8 for a neutered/spayed pooch and $19 if it is not, according to the town.

Dog owners must provide proof of rabies vaccination along with a spaying/neutering certificate if that has already been done.
The deadline for renewal is June 30, with a $1 penalty for each month a dog license is late.

Town officials also remind residents that local ordinances only allow for three dogs per household in Southington.
In addition, the town announced it is hosting a rabies clinic on Saturday, June 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Southington Dog Pound, 646 Woodruff St.
The cost is $20 per shot, cash only.
Those looking to get a three-year shot must bring in their pet's vaccination records.
In addition, dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a special cat carrier, according to the town.
