Southington Voters Say 'Yes' To Road/Bridge Funding Package

The $15 million bond package went before referendum voters during Tuesday's November elections.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local voters had a bit more democracy to practice Tuesday night as they easily approved a $15 million bond package for upcoming road/bridge repairs in town.

Voting, 15,953 - 7,544, Southington easily said "yes" to the proposal, which would see the road/bridge improvements begin in 2025.

The Southington Town Council, according to Southington Town Manager Alex Ricciardone, has prioritized improving town roads.

Currently, town staff and officials are analyzing what specific roads will get the much-needed makeovers.

Ricciardone said the town will continue to update taxpayers about the road project.
