Southington's Tennis Courts Get Makeover, Some Remain Closed

Some courts are just reopening while other Southington tennis courts remain closed.

The calendar barely says summer, with fall about to begin next week, but there's still some tennis to be played locally.

And in Southington, ongoing tennis court maintenance is resulting in a series of closures and openings at the end of the season that local racquet lovers should pay attention to.

• The courts at Panthorn Park (Burritt Street, Plantsville) will reopen on Monday, Sept. 19.

• Courts at Memorial Park (Woodruff Street, Southington) were to reopen Thursday, Sept. 15, after being closed for maintenance.

• Meanwhile, the courts at Recreation Park (Maxwell Noble Drive, Plantsville) are open and available for public use.
