Structured confidential treatment for alcohol/substance use 14-21 yrs
- Compensation up to $250 for research appointments -All 10 session are no cost & no insurance needed- Please help us spread the word!

UConn Health (Farmington, CT campus) is seeking participants ages 14-21 who drink alcohol and/or use substances such as marijuana. We are hoping to collaborate with anyone who can help us spread the word of our program to local youthful (ages 14-21) individuals who may benefit from our free, highly effective research treatment for alcohol and/or substance use, such as marijuana use.
Alcohol or Substance use can range from mild to severe.
Individuals may be eligible if:

- Ages 14-21 years old
- May have a need for alcohol and/or drug use treatment, and

- Are NOT currently receiving a high level of treatment for alcohol/drug. Mental Health therapy is fine.
- Able to attend the following appointments:
- 2 free individual sessions to start
- 8 free weekly, CBT-MET group therapy
- Research intake and follow ups/questionnaires at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months following the onset of treatment
Study eligibility will be decided through a 15-minute telephone screener.
Please note:
- Compensation is up to $250 for all completed research appointments.
-All 10 sessions of treatment are provided at no cost and health insurance is not needed.
There is no medication involved our highly effective, confidential study. We conduct counseling only (Evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET)), with extremely experienced clinicians and research staff.

He is willing to provide presentations, workshops and podcasts at your school/facility/organization at no cost. He has been engaged in clinical substance use treatment for 30+ years and research collaboration with Wheeler Clinic, The Bridge, DCF, The Village in Hartford, Catholic Charities, several universities/colleges, many high-schools and Juvenile Justice System/agencies in Hartford County and North-central CT.
