Thanksgiving Weekend In Southington: What You Need To Know

The town has announced its openings/closings for the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend, which starts Thursday, Nov. 27.

SOUTHINGTON, CT —With Thanksgiving weekend this week, the town has announced multiple impacts affecting town/school operations.

According to the Town of Southington, all town offices are closed for the holiday on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, including Southington Town Hall and the John Weichsel Municipal Center.

Also closed on both days are the Calendar House Senior Center and the Southington Library & Barnes Museum.

Southington Public Schools

Schools are closed for Thanksgiving recess from Wednesday, Nov. 26, through Friday, Nov. 28.

Classes resume as normal on Monday, Dec. 1.

Southington Public Library

The library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, and reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, being closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28.

"While we're closed, you may still drop off items in our book drops or use the library catalog to place holds, check your library card, or renew items," wrote the library.
