STAMFORD, CT — Two Stamford brothers have been arrested in connection with what police believe is a suspected ghost gun manufacturing operation.

Police conducted an early-morning raid on Nov. 19 at a home on Amelia Place after a multi-week investigation and seized numerous gun parts, accessories and tools, including a 3D printer - a device commonly used to make ghost guns.

Shadair Hall-McBean, 26, and his brother, Shamel Hall, 31, were arrested and face numerous charges related to the seizures, Assistant Stamford Police Chief Richard Conklin said, noting additional charges are anticipated.

"We're conferring with our federal partners at ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) on this also," Conklin said. "This was very much an illegal ghost gun manufacturing type of thing."

The Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit conducted a firearms investigation into the brothers and secured search warrants for Shadair Hall-McBean's person, vehicle and home.

Investigators executed the search warrants in the early morning hours of Nov. 19 with the assistance of the Stamford Police Department's Special Response Team, midnight Patrol Division and K9 Unit.

After stalling for over 10 minutes, police said, the brothers exited the home.

During a search of Shadair's Hall-McBean's bedroom, officers found four black 3D printed Glock-style handgun frames, a 3D printer and printer parts, a 3D-printed 10mm high-capacity magazine, 102 grams of marijuana, and other gun parts, accessories and tools, police said.

Officers found three 9mm high-capacity magazines, gun parts, accessories and tools, 350 rounds of 9mm ammunition and 27 rounds of .45-caliber ammunition in Shamel Hall's bedroom, according to police.

A search of a vehicle registered to Shamel Hall found a loaded black 9mm semi-automatic 3D-printed ghost gun, police said, noting Shadair took ownership of the illegal firearm.

Shadair Hall-McBean was charged with: criminal possession of a firearm; criminal possession of ammunition; illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine; manufacturing of a firearm/acquisition of unique serial number; illegal transfer of a firearm; interfering with a search warrant; criminal violation of a protective order; and unsafe storage of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

The charges came with a $100,000 bond and a court date of Nov. 20.

Shamel Hall was charged with interfering with a search warrant and three counts of illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine. He was issued a bond of $5,000 with a court date of Dec. 3.

"We're very happy with this investigation," Conklin said. "A lot of work and resources went into it."
