Iconic Former WWE Headquarters To Be Converted Into Residential Development
The building, previously referred to as "Titan Towers," served as WWE's headquarters for over 30 years.

STAMFORD, CT — Plans to convert the former WWE headquarters at 1241 E. Main St. into a residential development have been unanimously approved by the Stamford Zoning Board.
The applicant, 1241 East Main Street Associates LLC, which purchased purchased the iconic 90,000-square-foot building for $3.75 million on Christmas Eve 2024, plans to convert the vacant office space into 84 residential units, comprising 59 one-bedroom units, 23 two-bedroom units, and two three-bedroom units. The LLC is associated with MB Financial Group, a Branford, CT, and Boston-based real estate firm.
WWE relocated to a new facility at 707 Washington Blvd. in 2023.

As part of the conditions approved by the Zoning Board on Dec. 15, the applicant must designate six units as affordable housing, available for families earning 50 percent of the Area Median Income.
Indoor amenities would include a game room, fitness center, and a co-working space. Outdoor amenities would feature a pool, terrace and roof deck.

Enhancements to existing landscaping are proposed with 18 trees planted around the building, along with open space, bicycle storage, electric vehicle charging stations, and new sidewalks, according to the proposal.
The four-story office building sits on top of a parking garage, in which 115 spaces will be utilized. The overall property is 1.19 acres and located just west of the Darien border.
Along with interior renovations, there are upgrades planned to the building facade in connection with an enclosure of the existing parking garage to "enhance the building's aesthetic appeal," documents say.
Lance Parisot, an architectural associate from Beinfield Architecture, told the Stamford Zoning Board earlier this month the idea is to break up the facade lower down on the building "to energize the streetscape."

The Zoning Board also approved a request from the applicant for a text change to permit portions of a non-conforming building or structure exempt from "building height" to be converted into floor area.
The applicant is proposing to include the raised black area on the roof which previously featured the WWE logo and served as a "mechanical penthouse" for the building into the residential unit plan.
A revised draft of the text change was submitted to the board during the Dec. 15 meeting, "which responded to the questions that we had raised," Stamford Zoning Board Chair David Stein said.
Lisa Feinberg, attorney for the applicant, told the Zoning Board earlier this month the mechanical penthouse, which serviced the entire office building, would no longer be needed if the building was converted to residential. She said there would be a separate system that serves each individual unit with connecting mechanical condensers on the roof outside of the penthouse.
"So instead of leaving [the mechanical penthouse] unutilized or demolishing it, we thought it would be more appropriate to convert it to housing," Feinberg said.
