2 Stores Close At Stamford Mall
The closure marks the end of a 10-year run at the mall for one of the businesses.
STAMFORD, CT — Two more stores have closed at the Stamford Town Center, ending a 10-year run at the mall for one of the businesses.
According to Dan Stolzenbach, the mall's general manager, both health and nutrition store GNC and girls clothing store Justice have shut down their stores at the Stamford Town Center.
In an email to Patch, Stolzenbach said the GNC store opened in August 2015 and officially closed July 26. Justice, meanwhile, opened in April 2010 and closed Aug. 10. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Both closures are "part of national bankruptcies," Stolzenbach said.
Stamford Economic Development Director Thomas Madden also confirmed the closures Wednesday and said both stores "are in bankruptcy and have had planned closures for stores."

The two stores join a growing list of businesses that have recently closed at the Stamford Town Center. One of the mall's original tenants, Brooks Brothers, closed in June after more than 38 years in business.
That same month, women's clothing retailer Talbots closed its store at the mall after over 26 years in business. At the time, a Talbots spokesperson said the mall location closed after store officials decided not to renew their lease.
She also noted Talbots recently opened a store at the SoNo Collection mall in Norwalk, which is "a great location for our customers as well!"
Last month, the Cheesecake Factory announced the closure of its location at the mall's restaurant plaza on Tresser Boulevard. The company said the restaurant was scheduled to close Aug. 1 and all 104 employees would be laid off.
