3 Homes Could Be Demolished To Make Way For 20 Townhouse Units In Stamford
The proposal is "in conformity and consistent with the existing character of the surrounding neighborhood," the project narrative says.

STAMFORD, CT — Three homes on Hope Street through nearby Woodway Road in Stamford could be demolished to facilitate townhouse units in three new, separate buildings, according to a proposal on file with the city's Planning Board.
Applicant Woodway Pines LLC, the owner of 9 and 15 Woodway Road and 0, 1325, and 1321 Hope Street, is seeking to consolidate the five contiguous parcels of land into a 1.35-acre lot that will feature 20 townhouse-style units in three structures -- one building of five units, another with six, and the third with nine, according to a project narrative submitted by Joseph Capalbo, who is representing the applicant.
"The units are intended to be 2 1/2 stories in height without basements. Each unit is proposed to be three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The exterior shall be of various shades of Hardy Board with a asphalt shingle style roof," the project narrative says.

The narrative notes that about 15 units are permitted as of right, and the additional five units proposed are a result of a "density bonus." There are two below market rate units proposed.
The property is in an area that's zoned for low-density multifamily dwellings.
