It's curtains for the Dixie Swim Club!
The Curtain Call Theater held their opening show for The Dixie Swim Club Thursday night, a day earlier than the initially-planned show open due to high ticket demand.
The play is the story of five southern women who became friends through their collegiate swim team days and meet annually at a beach cottage to leave work and family behind for a little freedom and friendship. The play spans 33 years.
Three Stamford actresses are part of the five-member ensemble. Deborah Burke, Gail Yudain and Brent McKinley star beside Tracey Marble of Trumbull and Jessie Gilbert of Weston. It is directed by Carole Claps of Norwalk.
To celebrate the early success of the play, Stamford Patch sat down with Curtain Call Director Lou Ursone to talk about on-stage mishaps, life in the biz and, of course, the Dixie Swim Club. Check out the interview above.
The Curtain Call is located on the grounds of the Sterling Farms Golf Course, 1349 Newfield Avenue in Stamford. Tickets and future show updates are available at curtaincallinc.com.
