AAA Honors Stamford Police Officer For Traffic Safety Achievements
The officer behind the city's 'U Text, U Drive U Pay' campaign is named a traffic safety hero.

AAA Northeast recently honored Stamford Police Officer Jeff Booth as a Traffic Safety Hero for his distracted driving and impaired driving enforcement efforts.
At AAA’s 6th Annual Community Traffic Safety Awards lunch at Testo’s in Bridgeport, AAA recognized Booth -- nominated for the award by Assistant Chief Tom Wuennemann – for his work on the city’s U Text, U Drive U Pay campaign and sobriety checkpoints. He consistently is one of the department’s lead officers when it comes to the number of arrests and tickets issued for impaired driving and cellphone use. In addition to his tireless efforts, he is the “go-to guy” on motor vehicle enforcement issues.
As a vital member of the city’s Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad, Booth also investigates all major motor vehicle collisions in the city.
