Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Stamford Health Announce New Agreement

STAMFORD, CT — Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Connecticut and Stamford Health announced on Thursday the organizations have reached an agreement on a new network participation contract.

The multi-year agreement continues uninterrupted access to care at Stamford Hospital and all other Stamford Health facilities and physician practices for Anthem members in all health plans.

According to CT Insider, the previous contract expired on Dec. 31, 2024, with in-network coverage for members continuing until March 1.

"We look forward to continuing our long-term partnership with Stamford Health, and I’m pleased our agreement maintains access to healthcare options for our members," said Lou Gianquinto, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Connecticut, in a news release. "Anthem and Stamford Health remain committed to working together to serve our community and improve health outcomes in Fairfield County and beyond."

"For decades, Stamford Health, an independent and non-profit health system, has proudly reinvested into the community, ensuring access to healthcare, advancing medical innovation, and supporting local economic growth," added Stamford Health President and CEO Kathleen Silard in a news release. "With this new agreement, Anthem is helping to support our mission to provide a broad range of high-quality health and wellness services focused on the needs of our communities."

Anthem members may continue seeking care at the Stamford Health facilities and with the Stamford Health providers they know and trust via their in-network benefits, as they normally would, without interruption. Anthem members with questions should call the member services number listed on the back of their Anthem ID card.
