The Special Education Legal Fund (S.E.L.F.) will host a free, practical webinar on January 14, 2026, designed to help parents prepare for their child’s annual Planning & Placement Team (PPT) meeting; the critical yearly review where goals, services, and supports are evaluated and updated.

This solutions-focused workshop will guide families through how to prepare effectively, understand key data, evaluate progress toward goals, and advocate for appropriate supports. Topics will include organizing documentation, strengthening home and school communication, understanding evaluation results, and developing a clear, proactive strategy for the meeting.

“The annual PPT meeting is one of the most important moments in a student’s special education journey,” said Laura Sullivan, Staff Attorney at S.E.L.F. “Parents often wonder how to prepare, what questions to ask, and how to ensure the plan truly reflects their child’s needs. Our goal is to demystify the process and help families walk into that meeting informed, confident, and ready to collaborate.”
