Child Guidance Center Names New Board

The fund-raising and marketing executive joins board of the agency that serves Stamford children and families.

A New Canaan resident has been named to the board of The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC), the nonprofit agency that provides mental health services to children, adolescents and their families.

Town resident Jamie Boris has been named as a new member to the center's Board of Directors.

Boris is a partner and co-founder of DB Philanthropy Advisors, a New York-based professional fund-raising and marketing consulting firm to non-profit organizations, corporations, and high-profile individuals. Previously, she worked for 11 years as executive director of The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, Inc.

“It is an honor to represent an agency that does so much for the community and to be surrounded by board members that are as passionate about helping youth as I am,” Boris said in a statement.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about this new addition to our Board,” the center's President and CEO Dr. Eliot Brenner said in a statement. “To have a Board member that has so much hands-on experience in the non-profit sector can only add to our repertoire of innovative initiatives.”

Boris received her Bachelor’s degree in American Culture from Northwestern University and lives in New Canaan with her husband and two children.

The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut also serves children from birth to 18, in Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan.
