Stamford Animal Care & Control Shelter officers said Friday that a rabbit had been recovered this week after someone shot it with a BB gun and left it paralyzed along Wildwood Road.
The young female Cottontail was recovered by a person walking along the road who found the animal, placed it in a box over night and brought it to authorities in the morning, who then took it to the South Wilton Animal Hospital.
The animal was alive but unable to move and had to be euthanized.
Pictured above, a BB similar to the one shot into the rabbit, pulled from a cat that had been shot and severely injured along Haig Avenue in late June.
