Dog Rescued from Stamford Streets on Rainy Night
Authorities are now seeking to reunite the animal with its owner.

Stamford Animal Care & Control Shelter officials are seeking the owner of a poodle-bichon mix recovered by police overnight Thursday night into Friday morning, authorities said Friday.
According to Officer Tilford Cobb, police recovered the animal in the area of Highland Road and Lindale Street from driving rains and dropped it off at the shelter overnight.
Cobb said the dog was incredibly matted around the face and legs, particularly around one eye which authorities couldn't be sure was even present at the time.

"He had a huge mat over one of hs eyes," Cobb said. "We don't know if the eye is there or not. It's quite a bad eye infection. We rushed it over to the hospital."
Cobb said the dogs condition appeared to be something that worsened over a considerable period of time, including the loss of some hair along her back and debris stuck throughout her fur, though the dog appeared well fed.
