Driver Seriously Injured In Crash With Dump Truck: Stamford Police
The driver had to be extricated from their car because of the damage from the crash, police said.

STAMFORD, CT — A 48-year-old Stamford driver was seriously injured after their car crashed into the back of a dump truck on Long Ridge Road Monday night, according to police.
The crash occurred near the intersection with Roxbury Road at approximately 9 p.m.
Police said a 2007 Sterling full-size dump truck was traveling southbound on Long Ridge Road and began to slow down because the traffic light on Long Ridge Road at Roxbury Road was changing from green to red.

A 2024 Kia EV6 SUV was also heading south on Long Ridge Road and hit the rear of the dump truck, causing severe damage to the Kia, police said.
The driver of the Kia suffered serious injuries and needed to be extricated from the vehicle due to the damage, police noted. As of early Tuesday morning, the injuries to the driver were not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

The driver of the dump truck was taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police noted.
Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash, police said.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and Long Ridge Road was closed for around three hours as officials conducted an investigation.
