Fabricated Stolen Car Story Ends with Arrests: Report
Stamford Police arrested a couple after they claimed a car was stolen; Boyfriend accused of crashing the car following an argument.
STAMFORD, CT - Stamford Police investigating a couple's report that the woman's car was stolen have charged the couple with fabricating the story.
It turns out the car belonging to the woman identified as Jamya Munoz, 19, was driven off by her boyfriend while the couple argued Saturday night, according to The Advocate. Che McCoy, 24, is accused of crashing the vehicle in the yard of 80 Lawn Ave.
The couple was arrested after they gave conflicting accounts of who stole the car and they found McCoy had cuts and scratches on his face and Munoz had blood under her fingernails.

McCoy was charged with reckless endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, breach of peace, interfering with police, reckless driving and driving under suspension, while Munoz faces charges of third-degree assault and interfering with police, according to The Advocate report that can be found here.
