Community Effort to Provide Breakfast for Local Families

School is out for the summer and The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County is stepping up to ensure local children and families don't miss out on a crucial meal: breakfast. The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County is aiming to collect boxes of cereal to provide nutritious and accessible breakfast options throughout the summer months.

For many families, school meal programs are a vital source of consistent nutrition. With school out, the gap in daily meals can become a significant challenge, particularly for breakfast. Cereal, a staple for many households, offers a quick, easy, and kid-friendly meal that can make a big difference in a child's day.

The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County offers multiple convenient ways for the community to participate, making it easy for everyone to contribute:

  • Virtual Cereal Drive: A Virtual cereal drive is currently up and running. With a goal of 1000 lbs of cereal, you can donate cereal boxes directly to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.

  • Physical Cereal Drive: Collect boxes of cereal for the community with family, friends, neighborhoods, places of work, etc. Please email info@foodbanklfc.org for more details.

The drive will run through the month of August. The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County encourages individuals, local businesses, schools, and community groups to organize their own mini-drives or make a collective contribution.
