The Stamford Diner Gets Decked Out For The Holidays: See Inside
The diner features over 200 nutcrackers of all shapes and sizes, wreaths, "letters to Santa" stations, poinsettia displays and more.
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Diner is all decked out for the holidays.
Featuring decorative trains complete with lights, ornaments, wreaths, presents, "letters to Santa" stations, poinsettia displays, nonstop holiday music and over 200 nutcrackers of all shapes and sizes, including one mounted atop the diner's iconic coffee cup on the roof, the popular eatery has been transformed into a winter wonderland.

General Manager Laura O'Brien carefully curated the selection of decorations, which went up shortly after Thanksgiving. O'Brien said she tries to outdo the previous year, and 2025 is no exception.

Employees even contributed by making candy cane wreaths and contributing to letters to Santa from their children.

But aside from the decor, O'Brien wanted to make the diner, which is located at 135 Harvard Ave., an even more welcoming place for customers.

"It's fun, it's festive," she told Patch this week. "Considering everything in the world is not so great now, it's an escape. That's what we want it to be - a place where people can come and feel comfortable, relax, and kind of escape for a while, and get a good meal at the same time."
Stamford Diner is owned by Ari Thanos, who also owns The Royal Green and The Stillery, which are located within the Sterling Farms Golf Course in Stamford. Those restaurants are also decorated for the season, O'Brien said.
