
State and local officials are scheduled to gather Thursday for the groundbreaking of the new inter-district magnet school campus.
Mayor David Martin will be joined by city officials, members of the Stamford Board of Education, staff from the Stamford Public Schools, the Stamford State legislative delegation, Deputy DAS Commissioner Toni Fatone, and U.S. Rep. Jim Himes (D-4) for the ceremony scheduled for at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
The ceremony will take place at 200 Strawberry Hill Avenue, the former Sacred Heart Academy property.

Through a collaboration between the city, the Board of Education, the legislative delegation, and the state, $67 million was secured for this project during the 2015 legislative session. Students in kindergarten through first grade are expected to begin at the new school in September, 2016.
