The body appeared to be concealed and "in a decomposed state," Stamford Police Chief Timothy Shaw said last week.
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department on Wednesday released the identity of the second person who was found dead inside a home on 263 Oaklawn Ave. during a standoff with law enforcement last week.
The body was identified as Carmine Boccuzzi, who was born June 2, 1946, according to police. Boccuzzi was identified through a DNA comparison with a family member.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of the State of Connecticut determined the cause of death to be "blunt impact injuries of the head and torso with gagging," and the manner of death to be "homicide."

A CT State Marshal had arrived at the Oaklawn Avenue home on the morning of Dec. 2 to evict the homeowners following the foreclosure of their mortgage, a preliminary report from CT Inspector General Eliot D. Prescott said this week, and the situation evolved into a standoff with police that included an exchange of gunfire.

After the confirmed suicide death of the barricaded homeowner, Jed Parkington, 63, officers discovered explosive devices inside the home and sent in the SPD Bomb Squad.
While officers were in the process of rendering the home safe to enter, human remains were found in the room across the hallway from where Parkington's body was found, Prescott said.
Stamford Police Chief Timothy Shaw last week said the body appeared to be concealed and "in a decomposed state," and officers were unable to determine how long it had been in the home.
A Carmine M. Boccuzzi is listed as a non-appearing defendant in the housing summary process for the property, and as a tenant/occupant of the house on a notice to quit the premises from April.
An investigation remains ongoing, and police said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
The department is asking anyone who has more information related to the incident to contact Sgt. Sean Boger of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation Major Crimes Unit at 203-977-4060.
