International Law Firm Opens Stamford Office

Nine lawyers from another Stamford firm have joined the firm that will focus on equity and corporate law.

A global law firm has opened an office in Stamford that is staffed by a group of nine lawyers who left another firm and reportedly will concentrate on corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.

Connecticut’s concentration of private equity funds attracted the global law firm of Holland & Knight, which opened an office at 1 Stamford Plaza, and will initially be staffed the lawyers who were working at Dickstein Shapiro, according to the Connecticut Law Tribune.

The Stamford office will be its 25th for Holland & Knight and its first in Connecticut. Holland & Knight has about 1,200 lawyers and professionals in 23 offices in the United States, Bogota, Colombia, and Mexico City, according to the Law Tribune.

The partners are Christopher Cerrito, Martin Clarke, John Flaherty, Thomas Freed, Evan Seideman, Lindsay Sheehy, Gloria Skigen, Merrill Ulmer and Victoria Zerjav, all of whom worked at Dickstein Shapiro’s Stamford office.
