Kayak's Global Business Headquarters For Sale In Stamford

STAMFORD, CT — The building that houses the global business headquarters for Kayak, the metasearch engine for travel services including flights, hotels, rental cars and vacation packages, has been listed for sale in Stamford at $6.75 million.

Located at 7 Market St. in the Harbor Point section of the city, the building is three stories and about 20,000 square feet, according to online listings. The property is being listed by Newmark, a commercial real estate advisor and service provider.

It's unclear what a potential sale would mean for Kayak's future in Stamford. The company currently has a job posting listed for the Stamford office.

Patch reached out to the company for comment and more information on Friday but did not immediately hear back.

Kayak was founded in 2004, and in 2013, the company was acquired for $1.8 billion by The Priceline Group, now known as Booking Holdings based in Norwalk at 800 Connecticut Ave.

Also in 2013, Connecticut announced it would provide Kayak with a $2.5 million loan to help renovate the building at 7 Market St. so it could serve as the company's headquarters.

As part of that project, Kayak said at the time it expected to hire an additional 50 employees.

The building is LEED-certified, Newmark says, and it features an entertainment and exercise area with full locker rooms and an outdoor patio with fire pits.

"Formally Kayak.com's headquarters, it has an incredible existing installation, exposed brick loft-style space in move-in condition," a property overview from Newmark says. "It also resides in the largest corporate headquarter concentrations in the U.S. and is approximately 30 miles northeast of New York City."

In addition to Kayak, brands under Booking Holdings include Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda and Opentable, among others.

Kayak also has U.S. offices in Cambridge and Concord, Mass., and Miami, Fla., to go along with several around the globe.
