Every now and then, people need to approach life with a little more good humor, and that's why Tasos Arianas roams the streets of Stamford.
Arianas operates Stamford's "Original Good Humor" truck. You can find him on residential streets, near schools during dismissal or at popular community events - he'll even travel to neighboring towns to make appearances, like to Greenwich's Town Party this Saturday.
An immigrant from Greece, Arianas arrived in Stamford in 1976 and never left. He's been serving people for 15 years, but just bought his own truck three years ago to continue his journey on his own.
"I like serving people," Arianas said. "I like seeing the kids. I like [Stamford] a lot. I'm nice to the people, I have good prices and I keep my truck very clean."
Arianas, who offers the truck for social events and parties, does well even on days where the weather is a bit crummy, like Friday. Kids still lined up to get their snow comes and lollipops because even when it's raining, everyone needs a little Good Humor.
