Lucky Dog Refuge To Host Annual Luckypawlooza Festival In Stamford

The event that serves as both a community celebration and a major fundraiser for the Stamford-based animal rescue.

STAMFORD, CT — Lucky Dog Refuge will host its fourth annual Luckypawlooza Festival on Oct. 18–19 at Mill River Park, an event that serves as both a community celebration and a major fundraiser for the Stamford-based animal rescue.

Presented by Magna Construction, the festival will run from noon to 5 p.m. each day, rain or shine, and feature family-friendly entertainment, local food and craft vendors, and activities for both people and pets. Proceeds will support Lucky Dog Refuge’s rescue, rehabilitation and adoption programs, as well as improvements to Mill River’s dog park.

"Every dog at Lucky Dog Refuge has a story—they come to us from heartbreaking situations with no options left," said Kirstin Mende, co-founder and CEO of Lucky Dog Refuge, in a news release. "Luckypawlooza gives those dogs a voice. The funds we raise help cover their medical care, enrichment, and daily needs, but it also gives our community the chance to see the faces and wagging tails they’re helping. It’s hope, brought to life."

This year’s event will include a beer garden by Greenwich Brewing Company, food trucks, the "Alpha Dog Fun Run," dog-friendly sweet treats, art workshops, live fitness classes, children’s activities, contests, raffles and meet-and-greet opportunities with adoptable dogs. Hosts Sam Ramsdell and Ohh Jaaames will return to lead the festivities.

"Luckypawlooza is pure joy in motion," said Kristen Roeckle, board member and event co-chair. "It’s where wagging tails meet smiling faces, and where compassion turns into action. It is about community, connection, and making a difference in the lives of both animals and people."
