Man Arrested After Barricading Himself In Apartment For 3 Hours: Stamford Police
Police said they were assisting the Manhattan District Attorney's Office in executing an arrest warrant Tuesday morning.

STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford man wanted out of New York City was arrested Tuesday morning after a three-hour standoff in which he barricaded himself inside his downtown Stamford apartment, according to police.
The Stamford Police Department was assisting the Manhattan District Attorney's Office with executing an arrest warrant, the SPD said in a news release.
Jerry Genesis, 34, was arrested at his apartment at the Urby complex on Greyrock Place, according to police. He will be charged with being a fugitive from justice, interfering with a search warrant and interfering with police, a news release from the SPD said.

Genesis barricaded himself inside his apartment, which prompted the SPD to bring in its police hostage negotiation unit and Special Response Team to "ensure the safety of residents and officers," police said.
After about three hours, Genesis was taken into custody without incident, police said, noting there were no injuries reported.
The incident closed several area streets Tuesday morning, Assistant Stamford Police Chief Richard Conklin told Patch.
"The Stamford Police Department thanks the residents in the area for their patience and cooperation during this operation and recognizes the professionalism of all responding personnel," police said.
