Man Found Dead In Vehicle In Stamford: Police

Police said the city resident was found unresponsive in a vehicle parked in Stamford.

STAMFORD, CT — Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a vehicle parked in Stamford on Tuesday, according to the department.

In a news release posted to Facebook, Police Capt. Thomas Scanlon and Lt. Douglas Deiso said officers were called to the area of Avery Street and Cove Road just before 2 p.m. after receiving a report of a man passed out inside a vehicle.

The caller said they tried to wake the man up by banging on the windows of the vehicle but he was unresponsive, according to police.

Stamford Fire Rescue and Stamford Emergency Medical Services were also called to the area, police said.

The man was identified as Mark Pjetri, 43, of Stamford, and later pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police also noted it has not been determined at this time whether this incident is criminal in nature and the case remains under active investigation.
